also being used to fast tracker using 4track mods is probably another "fresh" thing which never happened - im sure everything that runs under TOS2.06 will work out, so far we just booted something called pcb tracker but im sure pro and ym will work just fine
20240927 : all i can say is the DMA sound IS there, its just like at 1 db, sysinfo, gembench, it all runs, it just doesnt sound out the speaker, a chiptune demoscene tracker which suspiciously sounds like its using some kind of sid-type instruments on the side has been going for 30+ minutes now, the sound is as good as you might excpet from a 1990s machine ... but the trackers same thing, the music plays , no errors but the volume has to be ALL up to get DMA sampled sound audible, and "audible" is the best it gets but enough to hear if you get close that all of the music is playing as intended, the speakers just buzz due to being maxxed out (and dont press space or that click will pop yo drums)
trackers found so far pro tracker pcb tracker noise tracker ym tracker
using the ACSI port sd-drive they seem to run , the point will be to found "the best tracker for us" here but theres issues with a.o. for now protracker 2.1 STE , the sound is really low and modules seem corrupted tho that might be a program issue or otherwise im just loading the wrong type and it needs specific pro 2.1 mods
The idea about an fpga box like the mister that holds 200+ cores with synths we could never afford in the 90s ...
well a first google for fpga synth came up with this :
